Asle Venås

Ovner, Director, CEO, Senior Pipeline Specialist

More than 40 years of professional experience from international oil and gas development projects with a focus on onshore and offshore pipelines. Has worked as Project Manager for large international and multidiscipline pipeline projects. Has worked with in all phases of pipeline life including feasibility studies, design, fabrication, installation, testing, operation, and abandonment.

Has participated and led many R&D, JIPs, development of codes, standards and calculation tools, qualification of new technology, verification, inspection and maintenance, risk assessment, deep-water, HPHT pipeline challenges, PiP, bundles, design and construction engineering, as well as practical experience of design and construction of onshore and offshore pipelines. Has also experience in business development and marketing within all areas of pipeline technology. Had a position as DNVs Global Director for Pipelines from 2009 to 2017 with a focus on technology and global business support for pipelines. From 2017 he has mainly been PM for large pipeline projects like feasibility studies, FEED and detailed design of larger subsea gas pipelines. From mid-2024 Asle left DNV and started his own company where he works with consultancy services with pipelines.

Work:
Kongsberg defense: 1,5 yrs, Structural- and aerodynamic engineer.
DNV: 40 years, structural analyses, laboratory testing, risk assessment through root cause assessments, FMECA and FTA of offshore structures, components and submarine pipelines. Expert on valve technology. Responsible for DNV pipeline repair and pipeline components last 10 years.
